About the Amazon Fire HD 8

A compact 8-inch tablet for streaming, reading and browsing, with long battery life and storage expandable by microSD. Alexa is built in for voice commands. Good value if you mainly want something for Prime Video, Kindle books and the web.

One thing to know before you buy: Fire tablets run Amazon's own version of Android and use the Amazon Appstore rather than Google Play. Most of the big apps are there, but a few — including some Google apps — aren't. If you specifically want Google Play, one of our Samsung or Redmi tablets is the better fit, and we're happy to talk it through in store.
